Problem installing 9iASPortal3.0 on win2K server/Oracle 8i

Hi all,
I have an Oracle 8i (8.1.7) RDBMS on my computer on windows 2000 server. When i try installing 9iAS portal 3.0, after going through some part of installation (approx 37%), it aborts and i get the following message in the installation log:

"ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1"
Errors encountered in the Install process. Installation Aborted.

This message appears after "STEP 11 : Installing WWU layer Components" in the log file

I am doing the "MINIMUM INSTALL" and have done the pre-requisites mentioned in the install script. The tablespaces, rollback segments have enough space. Is there anything i am missing. Any parameters that i need to set, all gurus out there, c'mon, give me a clue.
