I have a problem with a query that requires a DECODE in a GROUP BY clause, this works fine on unix and on WIN98 client via SQLPLUS but when using our application via ODBC I get error 'ORA-779 not a vlaid group by clause'

I can't find this documented as a problem or a feature anywhere.

Can anyone help?
