ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

Hi Everyone,

I am facing this problem eversince my machine went down abruptly after a power failure.

I am running ORACLE 8i (8.1.6) on solaris 2.7 machine with everything up and running except the remote connections to the database.

Even with sqlplus @, it returns me the same error. I did check my alert log file and see nothing wrong in there with the database.

I am able to connect to ORACLE through sqlplus perfectly with command but the above mentioned command does'nt work for me any more which used to work before this dirty shutdown. All my tables and views are in perfect condition.

I am also able to connect to database using DBI:DBD perl module, but normal sqlplus and java connectivity not happenning.

Can someone please help me with this?
